I can’t believe it, but fall is just around the corner,I am not quite ready for cold temperatures but it seems like all the magazines are sporting fall colors and styles. Most fashion writer are writing about runway styles seen on the catwalk but is it always wearable? of course it is beautiful but it is not wearable clothing for most women over 40, 50 or 60. Haute-couture is art and the trick is to figure out what’s doable and what’s trashable. The art is to take the best of the new trends and tweak those trends so that they will be appropriate for your age group. Here are some of the big trends for the Fall: Repeating patterns: Print and patterns can help you hide the fat provided they are done right, if not the problem areas will look worse. wide Legs: I just got back from Europe after spending 10 weeks traveling there, and I can tell that stores in France show both skinny leg pants (and jeans) as well as flares, use your judgment and wear whatever looks good on your body. Plaid, leopard and leather: Plaid is back with a different twist to it, this trend is a little different. It involves wearing plaid in surprising ways, like pairing it with leopard or with chiffon… or wearing different plaids within the same outfit, just don’t over do it! Loose silhouettes: wear it if you are on the tiny side but if you are heavy, it will make you look heavier. Also when you wear it make sure it’s not too lose and it does not look like a muu muu. Fall colors 2013: Green, grey, light pink and white(yes white after labor day) if these colors look good on you wear them if they make you look sick refrain from wearing a top in these colors, just get a grey or green bottom in that case. Capes:Capes have swooped back into the fashion spotlight since Hedi Slimane put them on the runway at his Saint Laurent debut last October. Here are some of my favorite looks for the fall, simple wearable and very French.
